Day 34 - payment 30 days later

Image
Finally received payment for 9/29 Eisenhower dollar sale; buyer never replied to messages, but apparently did receive it. Glad eBay released it (after 30 days); I did ask Customer Service about it awhile ago so maybe they reached out to him?

Day 31 - 50 Kopek arrives

Image
50 Kopek coin arrived 1 day early and funds released. Should see them Mon 10/28 I think.   J Stiffy 50 Kopek USSR 26 Oct 2024 10:27 Delivered CANONSBURG, PA

Day 28 - 2 sales!

Image
Sold Greek and Norwegian coin sets to same buyer, and shipped today.

Day 27 - mailer ready

Image
https://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking/ESUS224253239 Printed eBay Standard Envelope label on envelope and prepared coin last night at the dinner table. Forgot to print a page from the ad but hand-wrote a thank you. A good sale at the Buy Now price and only one view. Maybe my post here helped so it was found in a search? I was doubtful but hopeful too. Will try again.  https://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking/ESUS224253239

Day 25 - 50 Kopek coin USSR

Image
Just sold a coin! After 12 days, yay. Have to see if this was promoted or not. Get it ready to ship via eBay Standard Envelope 1 oz.

Day 24 - mojo?

Image
Can’t seem to find my mojo. Goin on 11 days, no sales. Do I need to drop prices dramatically? I guess so. Am not motivated in other areas either - running, mountain biking, maintaining house, all comes and goes in terms of motivation. Maybe I’m in a trough? Got roof shingles and they may be wrong color. Ah life is ok though. V for victory! 1898 U.S. Liberty Head "V" Nickel Vintage 5 cent coin, circulated

Day 23 - eBay C.S.

Image
eBay customer service via Facebook Messenger has worked pretty well. Got payment coming now for the mini penny which was delivered but not scanned I guess, and/or the buyer did not give feedback so anyway yay for that.

Day 22 - 9 days since sale

Image
9 days is a long time. And my last eBay deposit was $2.16 since 2 eBay labels and other charges were covered. Maybe this ok  1980 P and D and S Susan B Anthony Dollar UNC Coins US Mint Cellos Three SBA $   https://www.ebay.com/itm/205040072544  set will inspire, now 3 views, 1 watcher.

Day 19 - Parcel Insurance

Image
A benefit of using eBay Standard Envelope service is their Parcel Insurance Plan. Here is the response from Lori at eBay through Messenger after posting message on FB: “Great, thanks so much. This verified the right account. Upon review, we also only have the latest scan on October 3. There's no other information available: http://spkl.io/6189fuSKS  In this case, it's best to open an insurance claim through Parcel Insurance Plan that comes with this service. You can find a link for the claim here: http://spkl.io/6180fuSKs  Thanks for contacting eBay! ~Lori”

Day 18 - 5th day no sales ‘89 50 Kopek

Image
5th day of no sales yet; it seems domestic coins are more popular than foreign, but then there are cool ones like this, given to me from my Father-in-Law, from his Father.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/205041135701 :  1989 50 Kopek Russia Soviet Union USSR Coin 50 Kopeks 1989, uncirculated

Day 17 - most expensive coin

Image
Trying to market a little; maybe Google will find  2006-W $5 American Gold Eagle 1/10 Oz Gold Proof Coin at EOCoins on eBay ? $400 seems to be the going rate.  Only 5 views though and it’s been up awhile. Gorgeous coin!

Day 16 - 98 Active listings

Image
I have 98 active listings, which are easy to see using this link  https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active . I really like this option as you can sort, search, and edit easily. If I were to add unique categories or sku numbers I could sort that way too. This listing at  https://www.ebay.com/itm/205035232773  is perhaps one of the best coins I have, in terms of circulated coins:

Day 15 - Stuck in transit

Image
Sold an Ike 9/29 and it’s stuck saying still processing. Instructions say to call to trace it or call your post office to see if they can. Maybe tomorrow?

Day 14 - Note to self

Image
Note to self: 9th sale, 10/8/24; probably too cheap but it sold! To drop off at PO 10/9, after repackaging - hopefully to 1 oz and thin enough. Started over with new envelope and added folder paper around coin as padding with stripped down coin holder flap so it was thinner with bare grey card stock showing. Hope it weighs in ok too. Will go to UCB PO soon to ship. 9:43 am UPDATE: 1.1 oz!! Can I get it down more?! (tried again with printing directly on small envelope as A6). 10/9/24, 4:55 pm update: 0.9 oz and shipped!

Day 13 - eBay Standard Envelope Service revisited

Image
Found this handy Check payment hold button to check when eBay Standard Envelope funds will be released. It’s slow but may be worth if after all. I’ll convert some of my listings back to this cheaper method.  https://www.ebay.com/help/ip?topicId=4155&contextid=271fc21f-b05c-4b15-97bf-1646bef1e151:1926c06c9b0&transID=0&itemid=0&segmentId=19999&query=undefined&sid=840578764286

Day 12 - mailing time

Image
My latest sale listed eBay Standard Envelope mailing so I messaged buyer to let them know it would ship tomorrow and asked that they reply when received. Maybe this will work and funds will be released in a timely, more convenient manner.

Day 11 - eBay Standard Envelope problem

Image
3rd time I’ve mailed using eBay Standard Envelope and problems again: apparently no scan happens upon delivery so  ESUS tracking shows it’s not delivered yet, even though sent 9/29 to arrive 10/3. Funds still on hold! Messaged buyer 3 times w no response. Will wait another day and may try calling or texting him, since I have that info. Frustrating! (or maybe the coin got stuck in processing due to being to heavy?)

Day 9 - eBay offers

Image
Received an offer on a 1964-D silver quarter at my minimum amount, so I countered. In the meantime I received a higher 2nd offer from someone else and I got a bit greedy and countered and they declined. Let’s see if the first one accepts my counter. All this for a difference of about 2 bucks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/205025180320 Update, 10/6: neither bidder accepted my counter so no sale! Oh well, learning…take first offer if you want to sell and ensure you are comfortable with your lowest offer/bid setting.

Day 8 - bid on mini penny

Image
Received a $5.99 bid on my 1964 mini penny!  https://www.ebay.com/itm/205020010400  Probably worth a bit more but it may sell! Should be in mail by Friday if bid goes through after auction end.

Day 7 - favorite coins

Image
Collecting things started early. I collected PSU college football game pins, quartz crystals (sold door to door), stamps, and then coins like wheat pennies, silver dimes and quarters and silver dollars; when we went to Europe as a kid, I went crazy with a whole bag of coins. Here are a few of my favorites:  1977 Sweden 1 Krona 1976-Denver Bicentennial Eisenhower $1 dollar coin 1943 Steel WWII Wheat Penny set (Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco mintages) China spade money

Day 6 - how I inventory coins

Image
Straight-forward stuff but inventorying coins is perhaps best explained via 3 short videos. Start with your mess a coins: Identify each coin by country, year, face value … And last video: put in flaps, organize, and inventory in Excel: The result looks like this - an organized box ‘o coins!
