Coins & investing

Image
Since 9/28/24 I’ve sold and shipped  36 items for a  Total of $ 834.05 netting between about $660-$690 per a ChatGPT review, for about  18–$19 per sale. Not a great investment from a pure time-spent point of view but it’s been nice slowly selling off a few coins and getting them to homes of folks who want them. I’m 80% done w a full excel list of my inventory and it’ll probably be close to 1000 coins when I’m done - most of which is just circulated European pocket change but at $18 each that could add up. Avg is likely closer to $6-7 I would guess as I’ve already sold a few of the more valuable ones and remaining are probably mostly “nostalgia” items that will only sell to people who want a coin from a certain year/country reminding them of a person, place, or trip. In other news, I’m on Day 1 of Finance 108 via Northern Virginia Community College:  Princ of Secur Inves. Should be fun!

Day 50 - 3 SBA dollars

Sold 11/9, paid 11/12; shipped 11/13; eta 11/18. Messaged buyer to with updates. Love how payment is so early now; am I now a “trusted” seller?

Day 37 - eBay Messenger

Image
I use eBay Messenger to submit requests to eBay and it works great. They send a link to verify you and then respond with good news most of the time. This time I had 2 items delivered to a buyer and they had the package held at the PO, so it was there but their funds were still on hold. Jessica at eBay got the funds released!

Day 34 - payment 30 days later

Finally received payment for 9/29 Eisenhower dollar sale; buyer never replied to messages, but apparently did receive it. Glad eBay released it (after 30 days); I did ask Customer Service about it awhile ago so maybe they reached out to him?
